New Site Progress

Friday, March 10 2017, 09:29 AM
It's been a long time coming, but we are finally underway on rebuilding the website. This thread will be dedicated to sharing some of the progress along the way and hopefully get some feedback from everyone.

The new focus of the website is going to be the store, forum and education.

I know one of the major drawbacks / complaints about the current site is that it is difficult to navigate and is about as mobile (UN)friendly as possible.

That being said, we are working hard to make the best possible site to speak to everyone's requests and feedback.

I will be continually updating this post with new information, but for now; here is a screenshot of our first home page mock-up.

Keep checking for updates and be sure to chime in with feedback and requests!

As long as we can post pictures from our computers that will be a big improvment.

    Sound good!

Yeah, reliable and direct photo posting seems a prerequisite to making it a winner.

ETA is roughly seven weeks. Once I have some mock ups of the forum area I will post them here for everyone's feedback.

We realize the functionality of the forum has been lacking big time and that will all be fixed in the new site.

Just started work on some mobile layout / functionality. Our goal for the forum is to make it as easy to interact on your phone as it is on the computer.

The forum is still a work in progress, but here's a screen capture of the new mobile friendly homepage.

    Also,

The forum feature that has a "recent posts" or "active threads" is a good one.

I mean, how this forum current works only the most recently started threads show, even if they're not as active as earlier threads, and that kind of keeps an active thread "buried" from view on forum front page.

I just spoke with the team and we're currently about 4 weeks out from launching. Here's a little glimpse of the site.

We're currently working on getting the forum transferred over the new site. All your past posts, comments, profiles and pictures (when you could post them) will all be brought over when we make the change. FINALLY, we will be getting the renovation in this place that is long overdue.

    Here's a sneak peak:

The new site is really getting there guys! Feel free to hop on over to the new forum and give me your feedback.

If you post anything there it will be deleted when the site goes live, but any feedback will only make it better for everyone.

    Gee,

The user thumnail/icons are nice and large, which seems a bit more pleasant for starters.

My login from here doesn't seem to work there.

Do you need to login in as a member there in order to see the "Recent Posts" or "Active Threads" stream?

Late Entry: Oh I see it now, as "Topics Active", and an "Unanswered" threads too, to the right at the top, which is a bit easy to miss over there. But there here were no "active" active topics yet, so maybe I start one just to see if they start to appear.

It looks like the new site will be an authorized seller of Everlast and AHP products too, which will be nice, as I'm a fan of both (and have a 210EXT) of those brands being about the best values and performers in the North American marketplace. The Everlast 350EXT listing shows the image of a 315LX, I believe, i.e., the digital interface of the 350EXT is not shown, only the analog interface of the 315LX is pictured. The photos for the 210EXT and the 250EX are mismatched too.

I like the variable-shade ArcOne IDF81 lids too, and have the DragonFire one myself. But your text descriptions don't really emphasize the variable-shade IDF81 model iine, and the photos show different size viewing lens on some models shown. (Oh, I see now, you can get the various lids with a few different lens selections at different pricing. That may may still be a little confusing to some people, i.e., the ones thinking the variable-shade IDF81automatically comes with the "DragonFire" graphic style lid at about $214, instead of the $319 price as a sub-selection.)
